Role Responsibilities
- Design User-Centric Experiences: Craft visually engaging and intuitive interfaces that transform complex workflows into simple, effective solutions for our customers.
- Conduct Research & Validation: Engage with real users—through interviews, testing, and feedback sessions—to ensure your designs authentically address their needs and pain points.
- Leverage Data & Insights: Combine qualitative and quantitative findings to guide design decisions, measure impact, and evolve the product in meaningful ways.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, championing design integrity from concept to release. Present ideas effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment and shared vision.
- Contribute to Our Design System: Maintain and refine our evolving design system—developing and documenting reusable components and patterns for consistency and efficiency across the product.
- Focus on Details & Consistency: Own the end-to-end design process, ensuring cohesive branding, interaction patterns, and UX copy throughout each project.
- Deliver High-Quality Work: Collaborate with QA and Engineering to validate features prior to release, guaranteeing a polished user experience that matches design specifications.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in Product or User Experience Design, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design, interaction flows, and UX writing.
- A solid grasp of usability principles, interaction design best practices, and accessibility standards.
- Proven communication skills—capable of presenting and defending design decisions with clarity and empathy.
- Hands-on user research experience, applying insights to create user-centric, data-informed designs.
- Proficiency in Figma (or similar tools) for design and prototyping.
- Demonstrated UX copywriting ability, ensuring clear, concise, and consistent language.
- A passion for staying ahead of design trends, tools, and technologies—always looking for ways to push boundaries.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience designing AI-based solutions or features is a plus, showcasing your readiness to tackle emerging challenges.
Location
This position is open to all applicants located in Canada, although preference will be given to those in Ottawa and those willing to work within the Eastern Time Zone.
