JOB DESCRIPTION:
High Tech Genesis seeks a Data Scientist to join our team. Responsibilities include interpreting data, analyzing results with statistical techniques, developing and implementing data analyses, optimizing statistical efficiency and quality through various strategies, acquiring data from primary or secondary sources, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
In this role, you will:
• Own and execute on end-to-end tools & analytics projects including requirements gathering/validation, development of data models (data preparation, feature engineering, data pipeline) and analytics, user training and support.
• Leverage agile methodology and design thinking principles to partner with internal customers in prototyping solutions and ensuring alignment with underlying business processes.
• Coordinate regularly and frequently with stakeholders, initiating & leading team meetings and project planning/review sessions.
• Whether during the pre-launch phase of project, or during project execution, identify any issues, risks or other issues/opportunities that could impact the outcome of the project or that could reflect on the team. Lead in proposing or mitigation actions.
• Perform exploratory data analysis for data modeling and data pre-processing to arrive at patterns and trends.
• Foster strong relationships with peer teams such as data engineering and enterprise integration to ensure smooth and effective project implementations.
Required skills and experience:
• Demonstrated excellence in Data Analytics, Business Analytics and Engineering
• Proficiency in PowerBI/DAX and Alteryx
• Good knowledge of Snowflake and SQL RDBMS
• Masterful data storytelling and strategic thinking
Optional Requirements:
• 5-10 years experience in data analysis, interpretation, visualisation and communication
• BS degree in Computer Science / Data analytics or relevant quantitative degrees
• Proficiency in your statistics/analytics/visualization tools of choice, but preferably in the Microsoft Azure Suite, including SQL, PowerBI and Alteryx
• Demonstrated outstanding analytical skills, particularly in terms of quickly assessing large amounts of data and identifying relevant trends, gaps and inflexion points
• Relationship builder at all levels of the organization, including external teams/suppliers
• Exceptional communication skills, able to formulate clear, concise, and relevant fact-based messages
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
• Anticipate and resolve issues; proactive in planning and follow up
• Ability to handle extremely confidential information with complete discretion
• Methodical, organized efficient
